Learn with Eli
Private Lessons
With a focus on improvisation and composition, I've found the best avenue into learning the guitar for most students is to learn the music that already inspires them.
I teach a variety of styles and techniques, including jazz, rock and roll, blues, blue grass, gypsy jazz, finger style, flat picking, and experimental and extended techniques. While I have an abundance of curriculum assembled over the years, to begin with, I like lessons to be interactive and to co-create your musical path.
Workshops
I lead interactive workshops designed for intermediate to advanced players who want to work on their improvisational skills, as well as composition, and to explore how those two skills intersect. Other focuses of the course are ear-training, call-and-response conversational improv, and musical recall and memory. I have designed the curriculum to emphasize the individual participants, their unique skills and interests, rather than an easily repeatable sequence of information to impart.
